Water Treatment
Waitakaruru Water Treatment Plant
Neo was engaged directly by Hauraki District Council (HDC) to undertake the engineering associated with an upgrade of the entire electrical and control system at the Waitakaruru WTP.
The objective of this project was to bring the electrical system of the plant in-line with the latest HDC standards deployed at their other sites as well as to improve their reporting ability for drinking water standards compliance.
The project scope included the provision of: a new main switchboard; a new PLC and telemetry system; and deployment of an on-site SCADA HMI. The majority of the existing process equipment (motors, instruments, cabling, etc) was reused. However, during the upgrade some minor process modifications to the chlorine and sludge system where also undertaken which had to be incorporated into the upgraded electrical and control system.
For this project Neo undertook: detailed electrical design; compiled the NZS3910 contract; undertook on-site construction monitoring; performed the role of Engineer to Contract; and assisted with onsite commissioning.
