Remote Telemetry Units & Radio Replacement

As a part of the Waikato District Councils (WDCs) continuous improvement project (CIP) the council undertook a tender to source new remote telemetry units (RTU’s) and digital ethernet radios for all their sites throughout their Three Waters network. The replacement of this field equipment follows the natural progression of improvement WDC have been undertaking since 2014 when Neo undertook the specification and managed the replacement of the councils entire SCADA HMI, historian and SMS alarm system.

In order to ensure new equipment meets the Council’s needs, Neo undertook workshops with WDC management and operations teams to develop new water and wastewater pump station standards. These standards defined the capabilities the new telemetry equipment must include.

Due to size of the procurement an open tender process was required. Neo prepared a technical specification and worked closely with the procurement team to create and compile two complete tender supply packages. Neo then managed the technical evaluation, shortlisting and supplier presentations in order to support WDC to select the best solution.
